Our Holistic Six model is an all-encompassing framework that focuses on six core areas of human life, these areas include: Mind, Body, Environment, Social, Safety & Resources, and Inner Self.
The model is designed to help individuals recognise the interconnected nature of the six areas and how they shape individual and collective well-being. Rather than understanding and addressing individual issues, it demonstrates that the areas influence and depend on each other.
Real-world challenges are rarely a one-size-fits-all situation. Often, a cross-disciplinary approach and solution is necessary.
For example, somebody has a passion they want to follow, but they don't have the funds to make it possible. This is a cross-disciplinary issue, it combines the Inner Self area (authenticity, following a passion) and the Safety & Resources area (lack of finances). The challenge may then require a cross-disciplinary solution.
Our model exists to help people recognise the importance of a holistic, interconnected framework. Human life is not solely based on one area, but all areas coming together to create a whole. When we solely focus on one area we can unintentionally neglect other essential areas, leading to imbalance. The model aims to prioritise self-reflection and personal learning of the connection between the six areas and overall well-being.
Mind – Mental and emotional health, psychological well-being, cognitive functioning.
Body – Physical health, bodily needs, hygiene, movement, rest, sustenance.
Environment – Physical environment, surroundings, living conditions, nature.
Social – Social health, relationships, social connections, interpersonal support.
Safety and Resources – Financial support, healthcare, legal protections, basic safety.
Inner Self – Authenticity, purpose, meaning, values, passions, beliefs, personal philosophy, goals.
This model is structured around six interconnected areas of human life, together supporting overall well-being.
